Macroeconomics Group

The macroeconomics group currently has five full-time faculty members. In addition, there is a group of postgraduate students currently being supervised by the faculty members.

Expertise

The research group has the internationally recognised expertise in:

  • Business Cycle Theory;
  • Monetary Economics;
  • Computational Methods; and
  • Economic Growth.

Research Interests

The main research interests of the macroeconomics group include:

  • Sunspots;
  • Great Depressions;
  • Monetary Policy;
  • News Shocks;
  • Monetary Theory; and
  • Growth and Development.

Grants and Publications

The research of this group has been supported by several national and international research grants.

Publications of this group include well over 50 journal articles, published by the top journals in Economics, including the Journal of Economic Theory, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the International Economic Review, the Economic Journal, the Journal of Money Credit and Banking, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Computational Economics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Canadian Journal of Economics, the Review of Economic Dynamics, the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, the Journal of Macroeconomics and the European Economic Review.
