Prospective Students

Welcome to the School of Economics.

The School of Economics is responsible for teaching economics to students in a range of undergraduate degrees in the University, and in all areas of theoretical and applied economics, economic statistics and econometrics, some areas of finance, economic history, international economics, and development economics.

The fourth-year honors program in economics is regarded as one of the best in Australia, and Adelaide is one of the few Australian universities which offers graduate-level coursework for the masters and PhD degrees. Currently, there are about 70 students enrolled in graduate degrees in economics.

Research in the School covers a wide range of fields, though there is some concentration on the areas of international trade and finance, economic development, and the Asian economies. Supervision of graduate-level dissertations is possible in most major fields.
