School of Economics

The University of Adelaide Australia

EconoMate Program

EconoMates are current Economics second or third year students who remember what the first few weeks of Uni were like.  You can ask them all the questions you have about Uni, such as the differences between Year 12 and Uni, why they decided to do Economics, what Uni life is really like, what electives they did and why and if they enjoyed them.  The Economates can be contacted anytime at the induction session or via email for up to the first 6 weeks of semester.

The EconoMates will also be attending some of the Uni Step activities during the first six weeks of Semester, Economics Social Events and also events put on by the Economics Student Association and throughout the beginning of the semester. A timetable of events is listed below (bottom of the page) and will be updated shortly.

You may see the EconoMates around campus or at the Social events - you will be abel to pick them by their bright purple lanyards.

Please contact the Economics Course Adviser if you have any questions.

I am a member of the Economics Student Association.
When I started University, I wish somebody told me:
You have to be really organised and make sure you set time to just enjoy being at Uni, else the time just flies by and before you know it, you are about to graduate. Make sure you have a good study/work/social balance in your life.

* All EconoMates have completed Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics and Business Economics Statistics.
